This exhibition focuses on the beauty, history and culture of Florence through photography. The artist’s works not only reveal some of Florence’s well-known landmarks but also highlight the small details that make up the city’s charm: the architecture, streets, people and textures.

The works featured were created by 15 students from both Florence University of the Arts & The American University of Florence, who discovered the city during their first three weeks through the lens of their Tiny Florence: Photography and Writing course. The students of the Gallery and Exhibition Curation class executed the curation of Corridoio Florentino, aligning with both institutions’ and the gallery’s mission of experiential learning.

Through sixty different 5×5 cm, black and white photographs of Florence, viewers are instantly transported into a new world. From intricate architecture to shared moments of people, the pictures come together to support various themes, ranging from the day to day life and loneliness of locals in a busy city to the textures and details that are only visible when you slow down. Aside from the photos, the supporting text which was written by the artists themselves, provides background for the intended storytelling.
